Description
This listing is for a three-piece console set by the Duncan & Miller Glass Co. This is their Georgian (Line No. 103) pattern which was produced from 1927 to 1937. The set is clear crystal with a silver overlay floral decoration, which includes the work STERLING in the pattern on the console bowl. I have lightly polished the silver on the set but you may want to lighten the silver even more with a more thorough polishing. The silver on the candleholders is > 95% intact, while that on the console bowl is > 90% intact. The silver loss on the console bowl is in the two rings, not in the floral patter. The console bowl measures 12" in diameter and is 3" high. The candles are 5" in diameter and are 1 3/4" high. There is no damage to the glass of any sort. The glass is in Near Mint* condition, with no chips, flakes, cracks, or fleabites, and the crystal is clear with no cloudiness. This is a heavy set, weighing 6 lb when packed.* I list items with no damage of any type as 'Near Mint' as I hate to say any item that is more than a few years old is 'Mint'. Judge by the description, I list any irregularities or minor damage, so if I say no damage, there is no damage even if I call it near mint!
Note: Elegant and Depression glass commonly contain bubbles, straw marks, inclusions, etc. in the glass, but these are not defects but part of the glass-making process. I try to include glass anomalies in the description when present.
