This lovely Duncan and Miller Nautical blue bread and butter / dessert plate is in
Undamaged Condition
without chips, cracks, or mold damage. There are no scratches or use marks on this pretty piece.
The pattern is beautiful and deep. The color is fantastic. The rope border and anchor have been satinized perfectly and stand out against the striking blue background.  We have duplicates of this piece.  All of them are in the same
Undamaged Condition

This lovely pattern is aptly named Nautical. The design incorporated anchors, ropes, and ship wheels.  Although the name and design seems to be directed toward men, the dishes are surprisingly elegant. I am sure many women in the late 1930s were drawn to the Deco shapes and beautiful colors. The line consisted of mostly serving pieces and included a full barware line. Covered Jars, a Cocktail shakers, ice tub, decanter, cigarette items, and numerous tumblers are fun to collect, but are a challenge to assemble.
