CONOCO ADVERTISING SHALLOW RIVER PUSH BOAT REPLICA MADE IN CHINAThe Tagalong was one of the first three push boats purchased from Lake Charles Towing Co. in 1973 to secure needed domestic petroleum barrels. This purchase allowed Conoco, then known as Continental Oil Co., to establish the Conoco Inland Marine Division.
The twin screw [propellers] towboat, built in 1969 had a GM 8V-71, [2] 600hp diesel engines with dimensions of 50.2" x 17.4" and carried a crew consisting of one captain, one pilot, two tankerman, one deckman, and a cook.

The Tagalong was retired from service in August 1977.
